Two Cache series were nominated for January, 2018: Finally Done Death Marching with Esko I would like to nominate the Death March with Esko series, which is located on the FDL ski trails outside of Cloquet. This is a very well done series and is a challenge to do! The caches tend to get lonely due to the effort of completing the series (I was the last one, two years ago). I had to do it on two different days, but there have been a few cachers that have completed it in one day. How they did it, I do not know. One side of the series is very tough to get through, at least in the summer... but the other side, was not so bad, but it does involve a good deal of hiking. Especially when you take the wrong trail, lol. nominated by dmnrec Another Easy Letterbox PuzzleI would like to nominate the new Letterbox/Hybrid series by tonkaMN. This is a series of 26 Letterbox Puzzles that all are fairly easy to solve from home and are based on some of the most basic puzzle solving skills. When the coords are all solved and you head out to find the caches you will be delighted to see that each PnG micro is set up with its own stamp for your logbook. Quite a bit of time and effort went into this series. Here is the first one Another Easy Letterbox Puzzle. The rest are found by searching for nearby caches of that type. nominated by Geary&Co Poll will close on January 31.

Congratulations Eskoclimber! COTM inspired me to look at these. Spent the evening working to solve the four required puzzles. Solved one on my own, enlisted the help of my geo-family to resolve the other three. We got'em so maybe there's an excursion north in my future yet this winter or next.

I am flattered that Death Marching with Esko made cache-of-the-month. With luck, I might see signatures other than my own when I check up on them. DMnRec is correct, the western half is much easier in the winter when the pathways are hard. The eastern half is high and dry. Good luck!
