Hi, technically challenged newbie here.
I have a Garmin, but my ex is the one that always navigated to caches.
Is it worth it for me to learn how to use it, or should I just use the Geocaching app on my phone?
Thanks,
Kathe/DragonIce

Yes, do learn to use it. I think a gps is more accurate then a phone. Granted some phones do a better job with the app than others.
And, welcome aboard!

IMHO, short answer is 'Yes, it would be worth it!' I have two GPS'rs - both Garmin Oregons, a 600 and a 650...the 650 has a camera. Anymore, I don't need them in urban areas, but they're great back-ups when traveling outstate where one's phone often won't work at times. Just this past Friday, driving on WI-35 Superior to Danbury, my phone was 'No Service' or 'Extended...' which meant the app wouldn't work.
Geocaching & Garmin have made it easy to create and download lists and individual caches to GPS devices.
Welcome to the community! Good to have another 'Dragon' in the group! Forum says I'm new. Not really, unless 10 years is considered 'new'.
