Good News! After some discussion with Ramsey County about relaxing their 1/2 mile separation for Geocache placements, a new policy has been instituted. Full details can be found here: Ramsey County Geocaching Policy
Geocaching policy Ramsey County allows geocaching with the following restrictions: Caches must be registered. Caches are not to be buried. Caches must be at least 1/10 mile apart. Caches are not to contain items that are offensive, dangerous or illegal. Ramsey County retains the right to restrict the number of caches within a park at any time and to remove a cache if it is causing a negative impact on natural resources within the park. Only virtual caches are permitted at Tamarack Nature Center.
Please note that the registration form is editable. They prefer that you fill out the form electronically and email it to them. The new contact is listed on the form.
Kristopher Lencowski, Ramsey County's new Recreation Services Supervisor, is very excited to have new caches placed in their parks.

Can I clairfy the intent of the existing Cooler Crew Hoopla caches at Battle Creek Park, initially put out in October with the agreement to archive at the end of January? Are they ok to stay now? Should I be checking with Ramsey County?

Do virtual caches at Tamarack Nature Center require permit to be completed? That's what it seems to say. All geocaches need to have a permit.

Should I be checking with Ramsey County? That would be a question to ask the Parks Department since they issued the permit.
