Welcome to the new MnGCA website! This website is in it's infancy stages as we were working on trying to get it set up in time for the nomination threads for the 2017-18 MnGCA board and planning for the Fall event. So, it will be built up over time, but at least we have a start on it! As you look around the website, if you have suggestions for improvement, please let us know! If you are willing to help maintain the site as well, we want to hear from you. Setting up and maintaining web pages is pretty easy and can be learned fairly quickly. The forums are also just getting set up as well and we will need help on those to moderate and maintain. I am still learning how to work them myself, but my goal was to at least make it so members can get on and register and post.
Originally, we were going to go with Clubhosting, but lack of response from that company changed our direction to doodlekit. So, that is why the website looks different from what I posted last month as an example of what we were switching to.
In addition to the new website, the other two items I wanted to touch on are the 2017 MnGCA coin and the fall event. We are asking for submissions for the 2017 MnGCA geocoin at this time. If you have an entry, please email it to the board at board@mngca.org. Voting for the coin will start mid July and end on August 1 in order for the coin to be ready in time for the fall event.
We are currently looking at a location for the fall event, and once that is secured, we will post the details... so stay tuned! As always, the fall event will be in the metro area.
